The department has come a long way since the inception of the Govt. Polytechnic, Kalahandi. Mathematics & science is the building block of all the Engineering Branches and it plays an important and fundamental role in the field of engineering. Many modern tools and equipment's have been procured in Physics and Chemistry which gave a new lease of life to the science laboratories. To build a good foundation for future technicians, this department keeps no stone unturned in imparting value-based education by use of smart class, LCD Projector, and other teaching aids. "Every two-day should be better than yesterday" is the motto of this department.
